KEYNOTE: THE ROOT CAUSE OF COLLEGE STRESS THAT NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT AND HOW TO LET IT GO

When most college kids were young, they were told that they could be whatever they wanted to be.  When they got into high school and started expressing who they wanted to be and what they wanted to do, they heard things like, “You can’t make money doing that.  That’s going to be super hard.  That’s not going to work.  Is that even a thing?  If you’re not going to go to college, you’re on your own.”  And just like that, their dream of being who they want to be and doing what they want to do is crushed. Just as quickly, they’re expected to come up with Plan B and be excited about it.  The tell tale signs of stress, anxiety and low levels of depression started to surface.

They put their heads down and pushed through, all in the name of getting into the college of their choice.  All the while hearing things like, “College is going to be great! You’re going to love it! It’s where you’ll reinvent yourself! It’s where you’ll build the next phase of your life!  The only problem is, the stress and anxiety and low levels of depression, didn’t go away in the process.  The root cause of COLLEGE STRESS is the internal conflict between what they are told to believe about themselves as a young kid..AND…what they are told to believe about LIFE as a teenager.
